“tube amp manufactur” is a small Berlin-based company I founded in 2004. Years of experience repairing guitar amplifiers inspired me to build an amp that met my own high standards. My goal wasn’t simply to add more models to an already saturated market; instead, I wanted to create a high-quality amp that met the following criteria:
All-tube circuitry
Output of approx. 30 W RMS
Available as both head and combo
2 channels (Clean/Crunch + Lead) with independent tone controls
Wide range of high-quality tones
Very low weight
Choice of speakers
Customization based on feasibility
The result is the “Blue Note,” a lightweight tube guitar amplifier that I assemble myself. Only the wooden cabinet is crafted by a Berlin-based guitar maker, and the circuit boards are populated by an electronics firm in Brandenburg. I made a deliberate decision to use printed circuit boards (PCBs). My years of repair experience did not convince me that so-called “point-to-point” wiring is actually superior—neither tonally nor technically. From a technical standpoint, components are actually positioned closer together with PCB construction than with point-to-point wiring. The boards feature high-quality, plated-through-hole construction, resulting in a mechanically stable, reliable design with consistently high manufacturing quality. This construction method also allows me to offer the amplifier at a fair price. If time permits, I plan to develop one or two additional guitar amplifiers.
All other products I offer are also manufactured by me personally, using similar construction methods and great attention to detail. Should you nevertheless not be satisfied with a device purchased from me, I will gladly accept its return—subject to prior agreement and provided it shows no signs of use—and refund the purchase price.
