I started out as a musician many years ago, playing mainly trombone, but also piano and electric guitar.
Alongside this, I’ve been a passionate hobby electronics enthusiast since my early youth, especially in the field of music electronics.
In 1994, I shifted my focus from music to music electronics and founded the Mobile Sound Workshop, a repair service for music electronics. During this time, a vast array of amplifiers and other musical equipment passed across my repair bench. This gave me an excellent opportunity to learn about a wide variety of circuit and construction methods, along with their strengths and weaknesses.
For as long as I can remember, the sounds of electric guitars and their equipment have greatly impressed and influenced me, especially in genres like hard rock, jazz, and jazz-rock. I’ve always wanted to understand how guitarists (including Carlos Santana, Steve Morse, Larry Carlton and Brian May) achieve their sounds. And although I now know that the majority of these sounds come from the fingers of these great musicians, the equipment they use plays a significant role. But the sounds of organs, especially the Hammond organ, have also influenced me. With this knowledge, the desire to develop my own equipment and contribute my experience to its development grew over time.
This desire became a reality with the founding of tube amp manufactur in 2004.
Today, tube amp manufactur boasts a small but dedicated line of in-house developed devices, each model distinguished by unique features.
